Information and FAQ's

Carolina Developmental Pediatrics, PA participates in the following insurance networks: 

• Blue Cross Blue Shield (Except Blue Local, Blue Value, Blue Home or other exchange plans)
• Cigna  (Except Cigna Connect or other exchange plans)
• Medicaid (Existing patients only)

Please Note:  We are in-network with commercial (employee-based) insurance policies only. With the Affordable Care Act (ACA), some of the above companies have instituted local plans with limited networks, we are NOT in-network with these plans.  Please check your coverage prior to sending in paperwork.  We currently can no longer accept  NEW Medicaid patients.  In addition, at the current time we can not accept referrals from providers within the Duke network.  We apologize for any hardships that this change may cause. 

While we try to keep up-to-date on all insurance benefits & plans, there are many individualized plans and it is difficult to know your exact coverage. We encourage families to research and know  your benefits prior to your  office visits particularly as they relate to potential conditions such as autism, attention deficits, learning difficulties, and behavioral problems. Many insurers require that you use specific behavioral health networks that are participating providers in your plan. Please feel free to call our office if you have any questions. 

We strongly recommend that you call for a refill when your child has 7 days of medication left.  This will insure that you do not run out of medication and allows time for prior approvals or other questions regarding medications.

If you need a refill on a medication, first check with your pharmacy.  If you need a refill on a stimulant medication or another controlled substance, please call the office at 919-362-5406 x 2 and leave a message with your name, the name and date of birth of the patient, the name and dose of the medication and how it is taken as well as the name and phone number of your pharmacy.  A refill will be transmitted to your pharmacy within 2 business days.   Note the office is closed on Wednesday mornings and Fridays and these days do not constitute a business day.

We will be happy to fill out school, work or other forms.  Please allow 1 week for these forms to be completed.  Note that charges may apply.  Please see the financial policy for details.

If you require records of your child's visit  and/or testing please call the office.  Please note we will fax records to any physician office you request after receiving a signed release.  Notes for your personal use will require a fee for compilation of the record.
